Suicide Awareness Month
September is Suicide Awareness Month, an important time to revisit conversations around mental health, suicidal ideation, and grief. An important time to remind ourselves and each other that no one is moving through this life alone.
On August 23, we gathered at 3 Sheep’s to open our outreach and advocacy for Suicide Awareness Month. The Charlie Bucket Band and Reinke Links permanent jewelry joined us to bring the community together and support suicide prevention initiatives. It was such an honor to share this space and provide opportunities for people to process their experiences as hundreds joined us throughout the day.

Bedlam Screening.
On September 3, over 50 people joined us at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center for a screening and panel discussion of the documentary Bedlam with filmmaker Kenneth Paul Rosenberg, MD. With perspectives from Sheboygan Police Department, Elevate mobile crisis services, and clinical therapists, we dove into difficult topics of mental health and how to improve community response during and before crisis. Dr. Rosenberg and panelists emphasized the importance of upstream programs like the Resilient Schools program.
