Mental Health America Lakeshore Is Breaking Stigma With There Is HOPE Walk And Suicide Awareness Partnerships
21st Annual There Is HOPE Suicide Awareness Walk to be held September 19 at Deland Park
Sheboygan, Wis. (June 18, 2026) Mental Health America (MHA) Lakeshore will host the 21st Annual There Is HOPE Walk for Suicide Awareness on September 19 at Deland Park in Sheboygan from 8:30 am to 12 pm.
“There Is HOPE has become such a powerful event for our community members impacted by suicide,” said Julie Preder, executive director of MHA Lakeshore. “We are so grateful to continue holding space for connection, support, and hope for survivors of suicide loss and attempts.”
Hundreds of people gather each September during Suicide Awareness Month to break the stigma of suicide, honor loved ones who lost to suicide, and build community around hope and connection.
There Is HOPE Event Schedule
8:30 am – Registration
9:30 am – Opening ceremony and speakers
10:00 am – Begin the 1-3 mile walk along Lake Michigan
10 a.m. – 12 pm – Food, raffles, activities, and community sharing
11:30 am – Raffle winners are drawn
Nominate A Hope Hero to Be Honored at There Is Hope Walk
This year, MHA Lakeshore invites community members to nominate HOPE Heroes, the people who quietly help others feel seen, supported, valued, and less alone. Selected HOPE Heroes will be honored at There Is HOPE Walk.
